My work ethic for the rest of the day is completely, utterly destroyed. It's amazing how one "confrontation" like that can totally destroy my will to perform even the routine tasks.

Man, I suck.

Many don't realize just how damaging idiotic (unwarranted) criticism is. Now, if it was a pattern of always being "late" then maybe it'd be warranted. But from what I can see of it, it wasn't. And the result is destruction of spirit, resulting in the classic "in-office vacation" even if it isn't a planned thing.

Kinda like in-school suspension, except you get to hide in the closet while the boss is at a meeting, then come back at the end of the day and say you were "troubleshooting an intermittent problem"
