The waiting is the hardest part...

ferenI got an e-mail around 0857 this morning from my dad. It was brief but reassuring. It's nearly 9:00 and we're just getting ready to finish loading the new Jasonmobile, he wrote. Don't ask why he's calling it the "Jasonmobile." That's really not normal behavior for him, and I suspect he's had one too many cups of coffee already if he's writing things like that. Should be on the road in a few minutes. Will catch you this afternoon.
So now I'm home early from work (as planned) and waiting for my parents to arrive (as expected). I want to go grab a quick shower before they arrive but I harbor the secret suspicion that the minute I get into the tub they'll pull up, so I'm not really very anxious to go wash up. The good thing is that Kestral is home today so she could get the door when they arrive if I were so indisposed.
Tough choices like these positively rule my life.
It's been a very good day this far. I was surprised when I got into the office, one nice thing after another kept happening until I was left feeling like I was going to explode from all the positive energy. It's rare that I get like this, but it does happen! Today lots of other really cool things happened, many of them coming in rapid order. I won't go into detail right now because if I do I'll never get into that shower and then my parents will arrive just as I get in. I think it will suffice to say that I'm really blessed with some special people in my life and I just can't get enough.
So yeah.... it's been a great day so far, and I think the rest of the day will be just as good. It's been a long time since I have felt this positive about anything. It's very refreshing.
