I just found out through the mail today that I was accepted into the Savings Bond Continuation Program. I had recently signed up for the savings bonds program at work, which grabs money from my paycheck each week, dumps them into a savings bond, and mails me the bond. However, it was pretty touch-and-go if I would qualify for the continuation of the bonds to my beneficiaries should I pass away. When one considers my medical history, well, I can't say I blame the underwriters for having second thoughts. But I am surprised, and pleased, that I managed to qualify. So go me, I guess.
