feren: I AM THE MAN (groat)
I made it home and into my own bed sometime around 8:40 AM yesterday. I slept until almost 1 PM, although it was a rather interrupted sleep. After I got up and staggered around the apartment for a while we went out to BD's for lunch, returning to the apartment around 4:30 PM. One bowl of stir-fry was more than enough to leave me feeling over-full and sated.

When we got home I slept on and off for another few hours, mostly between bouts of productivity where I slowly unpacked my bags. As the hours went by I kept feeling worse, so around 11:00 PM I took a sleeping pill that kept me pretty well knocked down and laid down again. I woke up this morning before my alarm went off, which was sort of nice because it tells me I haven't completely broken my biological clock. However I was feeling sick to my stomach so I called into the office and told them I won't be coming in today. I rolled back over in bed and got another 3 hours of broken sleep before I woke up and couldn't get my eyes to stay closed anymore.

Ra has been fed and I've choked down a breakfast bar in a bid to keep my body nourished. Since I'm home today I might as well take advantage of it (despite the fact that I am sick) to finish unpacking and do more laundry. I'll probably write up a brief summary of the wedding weekend later this evening if my wrists don't feel too wretched.

Looking over my friends list for the last few days is sort of neat. So many people I knew were there for the wedding and some of them have already started posting their memories about the big event. I like seeing the different perspectives people had on the whole thing, and since a number of them were in different places than I throughout the night I get an idea of the other things that went on. Another thing that really excites me is the pictures; I just can't wait to see them all. [livejournal.com profile] masem has posted a few of the pictures he took on the big night here. I'm even featured prominently in one of them.

On a completely random note, I've gotten a chance to read my entries in full now from Thursday night and Friday morning. I was a journaling fool, and I do believe that what I said to some of the folks in the wedding party holds true: you really can see as my psyche slowly erodes bit by bit. I blame the looping tape at the Budget lot for most of that.

It must be love

.... subject has deployed a single dosage of Unisom with 16.9 fluid ounces of water. Subject will likely wait for 15 minutes, then go lay down and hope that this pill's magic ingredients can keep the subject knocked down.

What did I accomplish since I stayed home today? Briefly, I...
[Unknown site tag]... slept for three or four hours, usually in one hour increments that were sprinkled throughout the day.
  • ... finished "12 Monkeys," which was the movie I got about three-quarters of the way through before I had to leave for my flight on Thursday.
  • ... skimmed LiveJournal and did some reading back to see the friends entries that I missed over the four days of my absence.
  • ... was immensely relieved to see that my package to that special someone has finally arrived at its destination. I'm very pleased that it made it there in one piece without undue damage. I hope that the presents within will bring their new owner a sliver of the happiness that she's brought me.
  • ... did not write my weekend summary. This means that I will have to make that priority number one when I get home tomorrow, so that I can keep my details straight.
  • ... received a package from a seller on eBay. It was supposed to be my SCSI-2 controller, so that I could wire my tape jukebox into panther. Unfortunately it turned out to be some sort of crazy SmartCard reader. I've emailed the seller and am awaiting a response as to how thye want to handle this situation. This better not lead to me spending much more money, because frankly I have little patience for this situation.
  • ... did some digging on the world wide web, and have found that there are relatively few sites out there that sell gear for customizing/modifying my Expedition. The few sites that I've found have all been geared towards garish modifications that I consider far too "ricey" for my tastes, like "European" tail lights. Frustrating.
  • ... considered what to do with my remaining hours of vacation. I have almost 110 hours still left to me, and no idea what to do with it all. If I don't get down to 40 hours before December I'm going to lose what I can't roll into 2004. I need to go somewhere, but I don't know where I would go or who I would see -- the options that come immediately to mind just aren't realistic for a number of reasons. Maybe I should just take the time off and stay home from the office, but that seems like a waste.

Let me show you, darlin', a little cowboy love
