Or maybe I should say Wii! After my coworker Marlok announced that he picked up a Wii at his Costco today I sort of snapped and went hunting for a Wii of my own. GameStop, Best Buy, Circuit City, WalMart... everybody was out and I wasn't a bit surprised. lady_curmudgeon had begun to despair, saying on at least one occasion "We're never going to get a Wii." But on a whim I stopped at the Sam's Club across from my old place of work on I-355 and Lake Street and was surprised to find they had not just one but two of the Wii Sports bundles in stock. I bought the first one and the couple behind us, upon hearing there was one Wii left, snapped up the remaining unit.

After slinking out with our new toy, we made a stop at Meijer and picked up an extra Wii remote as well as a couple additional games such as Okami and Boom Blox & Okami.

So now I have one of these highly sought-after boxes, and so does a coworker. I know that at least a few of my friends have them as well.

So how about you Wii folks sound off? Tell me everything! Tell me what I should know about friend codes, what games I should go to get, etc.

I recommend buying a 360. :D

I still like my Wii... It.... just doesn't get played much anymore.

Obviously, grab Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. That's a given.
Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda are no-brainers, as well.

But yeah... Buy a 360. :)

If you're going to use the Wii as a vehicle for playing party games, you've got a lot of options. Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, for two! I'm sure there are at least a few others...

I've enjoyed Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy, as well as the bundled Wii Sports game. Most of my time on the Wii has been spent playing games I downloaded from Virtual Console (one of my favorites is currently Gradius III).

(I just realized the Wii doesn't use separate friend codes per game like the DS. Sorry about that.)

The highest video mode the system supports is 480p, but that doesn't really affect the good gameplay of the games. Any TV from this century should be able to deal with it. You'll want a component cable if you don't have one already and have an extra component in.

If you enjoy driving games I woul highly reccomend Excite Truck. It's pretty straight forward and a whole lot of fun.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is also a good game for the times you just want to go beat the snot out of your friends.

Super Mario Kart. Get it.

Resident Evil was pretty on it. Also, just so you know, you can also use the gamecube controls I believe with it for the other games. It's extremely strange playing Zelda and RE with the whole new pointer remote thingies.
