In a moment of what can only be described as "extreme stupidity" I managed to use my right hand to grab a 400+ degree pizza pan that I was already holding in my left hand with a potholder, thus subjecting my thumb and two other fingers to flamingly hot aluminum. I soaked the wounded digits under the coldest water I could for a good five minutes, but I can feel the ache starting that tells me this burn went quite, quite deep before I jerked my hand away and applied first aid.
