feren7:40 am: smash alarm clock
8:42 am: smash hotel's "high speed" internet connection
10:45 am: victory dance because the wi-fi network WILL IN FACT penetrate the walls into the room where the art show voice auction is being held
The good news is that my stomach no longer is trying to punch its way out of my abdomen the way it was at 1:30 this morning. Now it's just sulking quietly and biding its time, waiting for a new opportunity to lash out at me. Sometimes I am convinced my digestive tract is possessed of its own malign intelligence, a sort of built-in system to take my ego down a peg or two.
