I updated my LJ profile. It includes a bit more of my interests now, the background is still self-serving, and you can now send a text message to my personal phone (A Motorola Startac 7868W powered by the sometimes-competent Verizon Wireless). Try not to send too many messages, the damn things cost me like $0.05 a shot.

verizon? competent?

They sold you some of the Good Shit with that phone, didn't they? :oD

I had a ST7867W for a couple years before I dropped it and it stopped working. Replaced it with the Samsung A400, which, true to form, Sprint PCS stopped selling like the day after I bought it. :oP

I'm thinking of getting a Treo 300 after they come out and prove themselves for a month or two.

a friend of mine managed to drop his startac in the street while crossing and traffic, naturally, ran it over. he sent it in and they rebuilt it completely and shipped it back, no charge. worked like a charm.

of course, he replaced it with a timeport while he waited. dude loves his geek toys

Good Shit?

Alas, no, there was no Good Shit changing hands. I just got the basic $35/month package with 3000 night/weekend minutes, almost no roaming and voicemail. It's pretty hard to fuck that package up. The only work I've had to have done to the phone itself was to get the antenna replaced. Motorola really botched it on that aspect of the design.
