I received inspiration for how I might direct some of my nervous energy before I went to bed tonight. Earlier this afternoon I had gotten a huge .ZIP file from Doug via e-mail, said archive containing all of his pictures from the wedding last weekend. I had promised him space on my server to display and organize these photographs, and I of course am one to carry through on my promises. Since I wasn't feeling sleepy and I wanted to do something this seemed like the logical time to tackle the problem at hand. So what if it's 10:45 PM?!

After a few minutes of tinkering and swearing I got the latest version of Gallery working under Doug's account. Once I had the configuration saved and the software resecured I did a bulk import of the photographs he took, praising the software authors for having the smarts to allow me to import files directly from a .ZIP archive.

So, now that it's all said and done you can see Doug's photographic record of the weekend's events at:

http://www.black-panther.us/~doug/gallery/wedding/

Enjoy!

. o O o .

Addendum 2258 CDT: Holy crap, there's seventeen pages of pictures.

I think everyone's camera had problems with the light in that reception room, save for the professional photographer's camera. What's nice is that his pics will be up on his web site after Matt and Lari have a chance to peruse them, presumable thumbnails such that full prints can be ordered if desired.

What kills me is that my Mavica's battery was dead by that point, and from my experience, it handles low-light situations quite well at distances of up to around 12 feet.

*kicks self again*

Oh, is that why they haven't come up, yet? Now I won't sit around, fretting that the photographer is taking forever to get the pictures up.

Eeee, thanks for the link! I already went through and grabbed a bunch. Kris ([livejournal.com profile] krystynayt) sent me some of the 550 she took last night, and there are at least a couple in there of you and me, so I'll let you know when I post those if you want to snag 'em.

I'm still holding out for the "racing away from the aisle" shot, though.

550 pictures? All this time I thought Doug was a shutterbug, I'm clearly mistaken....

[there are at least a couple in there of you and me, so I'll let you know when I post those if you want to snag 'em]

That'd be far too cool!

[I'm still holding out for the "racing away from the aisle" shot, though.]

I'm anxious to see that shot, too. I want to buy it and frame it for my office.

I didn't know who that girl was taking all those pictures; I figured she was along as part of Matthew's camera crew until the Ranters put a name to the face. She was taking pictures everywhere, it seemed.

Ok, I put it in my most recent LJ post, but in case you got distracted by the survey (or ran away from the entry due to the LJ-cut):

Anything that concerns you will be in the first section, though obviously you're welcome to poke through the rest of the photos as well. I'd recommend a high pain threshold if you're going to do that, though. ^_-

For pictures of you and I, I have to go with this picture as a favorite.

[you're welcome to poke through the rest of the photos as well]

But watching Neu get funky is an absolute riot as well. So many choices, so little time!

And the other pictures are neat, too. I wish I'd been introduced to you earlier. Tsk on Matthew and Larissa for that oversight.

[I'd recommend a high pain threshold if you're going to do that, though.]

Do I need to explain what I do for a living again? Pain is in my blood.
