Work, dammit!
Jun. 8th, 2002 01:33 pmI was amazingly productive last night, making leaps and bounds forward on the coding of the third iteration of the art show database for Midwest FurFest. I wrote a number of routines from scratch, cleaned them up, started creating include files to stuff my routines in so that I wouldn't clutter up the main program, and actually got some cookie-cutter SQL queries to work after I ported them over from the second-generation system. I even managed to get the skeleton framework for the menu system in place -- and it works, no less. It should be easy to extend the framework to include the level of security and data validation that I want to see in place to prevent some of the (admittedly minor) annoyances we encountered last year with revision two of the system. I see the opportunity to add in some features that we discussed but never really had the ability to implement, too, which makes me think this just might turn out to be the best implementation ever. Maybe I'll finally be able to stop rewriting the damn thing once this is all said and done...
