feren: I AM THE MAN (drunky)

Five months ago I was addicted to Diet Vanilla Coke, I drank that stuff like it was going out of style. To be truthful I'm still upset that the concoction is not seeing more market penetration because there are only so many 20oz bottles I want to buy from the local Amoco. Eventually I'd like to be able to just stop in at [random grocery store] and pick up a case of the beverage if the whim strikes me. Unfortunately that day seems a long way off as the only place that carries it in cans is Dominicks, and they only carry it in 12-packs. Nobody else seems inclined to pick this line up in regular much less in the diet version.

Now, however, that is less of a worry as I am addicted to something entirely new. I never knew Pepsi made a diet version of Code Red, but as soon as I found out I started drinking it and I haven't been able to stop since then.

I need to seek therapy -- or gin. In point of fact I am convinced that I should just skip the therapy and go directly to the thirteenth step in the program: drinking heavily. This sounds like a great way to start my weekend. I strongly advise the rest of you to pursue this method as well. Your homework will be to report your results to me on Monday.

Tell me will love be there

As irritated as I've been lately, I could use a good stiff drink or six...

Sadly, though, I suck at drinking and the other activity I partake in to calm my nerves is just not a good idea right now...

And, in the realm of soda, why did Pepsi keep Code Red and nuke LiveWire? I like Code Red but I *love* LiveWire.

That is all.

Is that the orange stuff? They're still selling the orange stuff at my office building's cafe. I haven't tried it because there's no diet version...

They didn't make a diet version because it was only supposed to be a limited release. if they bring it back into wide release, they will most likely have a diet version, just like Code Red.

LIVEWIRE!

OMG that stuff rocks...I actually like it better than code red and the original Mtn. Dew.

I don't see any drinks on WebTender involving Code Red. I think you should rectify this situation, via a long process of experimentation!

I don't think Code Red would do too badly at substituting for Grenadine, but I want to use it as the base.

Quickly, to the BatBar! We must concoct!

There is the "Pissed Hillbilly", invented by WREX sports guy Jay Fields... Code Red and Southern Comfort.

Good stuff, but quite sweet.

Y'know, when he was eyeing the bar last night, and we were debating what would go well in Code Red, the first thing I suggested was SoCo. I think I may have been inspired by your Coke/Grenadine/SoCo mixture.

We did decide that gin was worth experimenting with...I'm actually thinking a gin and tonic, add the Code Red, with about a 2:1 ratio of tonic:Dew. Give it a little color, and a little fruit taste in lieu of the lime!
