Tonight there was a gathering at my apartment. Warm bodies began appearing around 6:30 pm. It's now 11:19 pm.... And we just got home. Dinner was had at BDs with quite a crew: Yotogi, Roho, Kestral, Datahawk, Posicat, Duncan, Takaza and Linnaeus all trooped up with me to the restaurant. The staff was really short-handed tonight due to some extenuating circumstances so I wound up helping out on the grill for over 40 minutes. Despite this small detour I still managed to eat two bowls, put down two large specialty margaritas and do plenty of talking.

My friends totally rock. I love having them around.

I don't think you were back from dinner yet when I was telling Kes and Roho that I just don't invite myself anywhere... even if it's a standard "You're invited anytime we go to 'blah'" type thing. Maybe it's my Southern upbringing or something, but I still feel like I'm intruding unless I get told "Hey, we're going over here now, wanta join us?"

Doesn't apply to this gathering anyway, 'cause I didn't hear about it until after the fact. :D
