Judging by the number of incredulous responses I got online, I guess there's something I need to say here.... and that is: Yes, people, I started drinking beer at ten o'clock.

In in the morning.

On a Sunday. It set me on the way to a buzz that lasted more than 14 hours. Furthermore, I've been doing this for the last 8 weeks or so.

Most of you have known me for a number of years. So I ask, strictly out of curiousity and for my own edification: why does this come as a surprise to anyone?

Genet was having White Russians and nobody's giving her these weird looks.....c_c

Although your "typical" undergraduate experience is meant to include many such alcoholic endeavors anyway, I'd have to say that UR makes it particularly easy to believe in early indulgence.... We have an entire day set aside for drinking, in addition to the more regular excesses.

I'm more intrigued by the fact that another LJ friend started his brief (over) drinking at 6:15am today.

I've been incredibly tame since it's (=I've) become legal, but then...I also haven't been around my friends very often. Haven't yet reached the stage where drinking alone has much appeal.

Sunday is actually the most socially acceptable day for morning drinking. Traditionalists will stick with champagne or mimosas, but a good malty beer is like drinking a bowl of cereal, and can be part of this nutritious breakfast.

Incorrect. Add cream (aka "Half-and-half"), not milk.

Milk is acceptable as a substitute, but the drink will lack body and sweetness.
