This is why i hate people. Its still September and already the Christmas trees and decorations are up for sale?! Can we at least clear Halloween first? I dont think that is really too much to ask...
The Christmas decorations have been out much longer than you think. They were out even before my birthday and it is at the beginning of September. Try more like mid-August when I first saw the decorations out. :(
Wow, that does seem excessively early. Even the anal retentive early-birds around this area have at most put the Thanksgiving crap beside the Halloween crap. But Christmas trees definitely take the cake.
Yeah, when I was at Woodfield yesterday, Marshall Field's Macy's had a huge Christmas tree display at their mall entrance. A good RPG would have taken care of that nicely...
While I'm one of those nutters who start buying Christmas gifts in the middle of summer, I think having Christmas decorations in stores already is just... Eww. Wrapping paper and tags can be on sale (unobtrusively, plzkthx!) year-round for all I care, but decorations-proper need to wait until mid-November or so.
Seeing as I'm a firm believer in never decorating until the first Sunday of Advent.

Date: 2006-10-01 06:09 am (UTC)It's fucking with my head. I keep thinking it's October, because of the subliminal message I get each time I walk into a Walgreens wiht a pharmacy.
It's got to be some kind of government plot.
