Shrinkwrapped Feren

I got shrink-wrapped yesterday. I always said I was an industrial accident waiting to happen.

In another week, he will sprout as a beautiful butterfly, flitting gracefully from flower to flower, extending his probiscus to suckle the gin hidden therein.

I'm sure it'll wind up on YouTube at some point.

Hmm...maybe I have butterfly wings floating around here somewhere....

*evil grin*

That reminds me of the year where [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I were going to a costume party at a friends house. He didn't have anything to wear, so I dug up stuff from a previous costume, a pair of pink and purple butterfly wings. His sister managed to locate a pair of horns from Renaissance Fair. The result was quite amusing. I think I have pictures of that somewhere.

See, around here we keep our engineers fresh by putting them in Tupperware.

We can't afford Tupperware, as evidenced by the grade-F craptastic chain link fence in the background.

Is it pathetic that I recognize each device I see in the background and also know each one's purpose in your network? And I meant personally in your network. I obviously havent been killing the right brain cells

Yes, it's pathetic.

More clear liquors for you.

That's a keeper

Is it too late to get this picture in the MFF program book?

I really hope so. That image would be a horrid way to celebrate my retirement.

First thought: Man, keep that fetishy stuff behind a cut... Wait, Feren?

I guess it says something about what experiences stick with you that even though I haven't worked in a warehouse for eight years, my next thought was "Hey, that's not shrink wrap, it's stretch wrap!"

[keep that fetishy stuff behind a cut... Wait, Feren?Hey, that's not shrink wrap, it's stretch wrap!]

You are correct, sir. But those who are outside the secret cabal of warehouse work wouldn't understand what I meant if I said that. ;)

Huh. I thought they used canvas for those. The miracles of modern materials...

We used to get cardboard boxes before they buried us alive, now we just get stretch-wrapped with material pinched from the shipping docks.

Note to self: Bring stretch-wrap to MFF...

I don't want to know what you fed into Google to find that.

Actually, I've known about it for a long time. I probably got the link from somebody posting "wierd stuff on the web," and it was so extreme it stuck in my head.

I think to find it again, I told Google "roy orbison clingwrap."

It's so popular, it's actually linked from the Roy Orbison entry on Wikipedia. The discussion took me to Mummification (BDSM), which just goes to show that if something exists, somebody, somewhere has made it into a kink.

Makes you wonder about red staplers, doesn't it?

I thought they would only finally wrap you in the shrink-wrap when they determined it is finally time to send you to the funny farm.

Is it indeed that time?

I thought about my friend Michel
How they rolled him in linoleum
And shot him in the neck
A bloody halo like a think-bubble
Circling his head
And I bellowed at the firmament
Looks like the rains are here to stay
And the rain pissed down upon me
And washed me all away

You probably exceed the maximum LxWxH shipping dimensions for UPS, FedEx, and the USPS. Have you tried being folded up before being stretch-wrapped?
