Kid Beyond

So you're all probably wishing I'd shut up about Kid Beyond already. TOO BAD. Since I saw him at the Imogen Heap show on Saturday he's occupied a significant portion of my thoughts.

Here is a video from Kid Beyond that explains the technology and process behind his work, elaborating on how he does what he does. Give it a watch if you have the time, I think I'll help you understand why his work fascinates me the way it does... if nothing else you'll get a small sense for what it was that I experienced during his set on Saturday night.

wow!!! I am amazed. I had a roommate after college that was a pretty good drummer and it was a lot of fun listening to him learn new beats, and doing it all vocally.

A friend of mine just saw the Kid Beyond/Imogen Heap show last night and was raving about him as well. I've been checking out some clips of him on YouTube and this guy is pretty amazing. Given my background in and love for hip-hop, the way he's innovated the beatbox concept is simply fabulous. I may pick up his EP tommorrow and give it a spin.
