Wow. He's definately not stuck in the 80s.

The Rick Springfield show last night was fantastic. The venue, Potawatomi's "Northern Lights Theater," is always an excellent location because it's small and "intimate" for any show. With that being said, Rick took it up a notch. I'll be honest, I don't know what I was expecting when I arrived... but I wasn't expecting that. From the screaming fangirls of all ages to the kick-ass opening video complete with projection screens and smoke machines, to the world debut of two songs from his as-yet-unreleased album to the part where he walked on top of tables and played Human Touch... it was pretty awesome. Curmudgeon wrote up her own brief but eloquent entry about the experience while I was driving us home last night.

A few thoughts from the show, in no particular order:

I've never seen anybody play a power chord with a dozen roses.

For being a man of the 80s he is bringing the Big. Rock. Noise.

I need the new album just for Venus In Overdrive.

What's with the rubber ducks?

I should have brought my camera.

No. No, teeth should NOT be used on a banana like that.

Dude, is he... he IS climbing over the wall between rows so he can stand on the table!

I want to do this again next year.

He just played the drums with two dozen roses!

Rick puts on a better show than performer half his age asnd looks fabulous doing it. Ive seen him 27 (#28 in two weeks) times since 84 and he just keeps getting better. Rick Kicks Ass!!

Hi! I read your review, and so glad you enjoyed yourself. Rick does completely ROCK, and I've known that as a fan for 27 years now. The shows he did in Milwaukee have become an annual tradition now 8 years running. If you are interested, there are many fans who did take pictures and post them on snapfish to enjoy.
