Date: 2008-10-23 08:58 pm (UTC)I thought the same thing you did about character rights, but if I was in charge of their media campaign I would have had him play Al Bundy and dealt with the consequences later. It might have cost them a settlement later and they'd have to have covered Ed O'Neill's liability too, but the press coverage if Fox threatened to sue or sued would have helped make the video popular too.
