Getting the hell out of town!

So it's been decided: lady_curmudgeon and I are heading North this afternoon! But in a departure from our usual migration pattern, we aren't stopping in the Kenosha/Antioch area. No, instead we're going all the way up to Minnesota to spend the weekend on the farm with my folks. Yes, it's a very long drive for a very short weekend, but the opportunity to get away from everything is too tempting.

I'll get to pick up a few toys, see my parents and in general unwind. Well, "unwind" as much as one can when driving 800 miles over the span of 48 hours. :)

Would it be a pain for you to travel into Minneapolis, or should I drive south to meet up with you?

Might be better to come out our way, since travel out of Minneapolis in the afternoon/evening would add more time to our drive, meaning we'd have to cut our lunching shorter... if that makes sense. Suddenly I'm not sure.

Lucky! I haven't been out of town in over a year now. Unfortunately, doomsey has been so busy with work that he can't take time off. (sigh)

Technically I'm too busy to take time off too, but I am not really giving $EMPLOYER a choice in this matter. Half a day on Friday isn't much time off, anyway. :P
